Akaruk Yimsa-ard
Freelance Director

Akaruk Yimsa-ard was born and raised in Bangkok. During his high school years, he interned at the publishing house a day before continuing his studies in Chiang Mai, where he graduated with a degree in Media Arts and Design. He has a personal interest in exploring space and time, memories both real and imagined, and the traces left by people and things within spaces. This interest stems from observing changes along familiar paths that have shifted over time.

Akaruk has participated in moving image called ‘Happy Girl’, which was part of the Bangkok Biennale 2022, funded by the Prince Claus. He currently works as a music video director, having collaborated with a variety of artists, including Stoondio for Highway and Blue Valentine.

Now, Akaruk works as a director and screenwriter, in both music videos and films. He is constantly seeking new narrative forms, experimenting in both the artistic and commercial spheres through an unrestricted artistic process that transcends traditional mediums and formats.
