Motorsport professional
Carlo began racing at the age of 8 on local go-kart circuits. Soon he became one of the best gokart drivers in Holland and eventually one of the top go-karters in the world, winning the 2001 European Championship. He got chosen by Renault F1 to enter their Driver Development program. He then went on to show his potential in Dutch and Eurocup Formula Renault.
He continued his impressive form by dominating both German (2007) and Japanese Formula 3 (2008), being one of the few drivers to win back-to-back F3 titles in two different continents.
Due to a lack of sponsorship it was tough to move up towards F1, turning his focus to GT/Endurance racing. Since his first GT experience in 2008 in Japanese SuperGT for the works Honda team in GT500 class, he has established himself as one of the top racing drivers around Asia.
Moreover in 2013 Carlo founded CVD Sports Management Limited to focus on using his extensive motorsport experience to drivers, race teams and motorsport affiliated companies to offer coaching, management and consultant services.
