Profile
Chris Cracknell
Grant Thornton Thailand
Chairman
Chris Cracknell has been delighted to serve as both a Director and Chair of the British Chamber of Commerce for the past 2 years. It has given him great pleasure and honor to meet numerous members of the BCCT and hear their views on the Chamber and how it supports their businesses. Assuming the role of Chair during the Covid years brought about interesting challenges as the focus shifted towards vaccinations, online events, and general member support. In the second year, there has been a return to a more typical profile of face-to-face events, online activities, the introduction of new Working Groups, and travel throughout the country.
Chris has found particular satisfaction in observing the growth and increased activity of the Working Groups over these 2 years, all structured in direct response to member needs. The BCCT has also maintained a strong and ongoing relationship with the DIT and the British Embassy.
Regarding leadership style, Chris firmly believes that the Board of the BCCT has a collective responsibility to participate in and lead on behalf of its members. By fostering teamwork and involving others, the workload can be shared, thus empowering the Executive to effectively serve its members on multiple fronts while making the experience enjoyable.
Recognizing the role of business within societies and communities is one of the key functions of the BCCT, and this is something the organization excels at.
In terms of his background, Chris currently holds the position of Chairman at Grant Thornton in Thailand (https://www.grantthornton.co.th/) and is also involved in similar roles with both local and international companies.
