Chris Lowenstein is a prominent leader in the film industry in Thailand, where he has lived for over 32 years. In 1996, he founded Living Films, which has since grown into one of Southeast Asia’s leading production companies – recognized for its quality, integrity and consistent delivery of world-class content.

Chris has over 70 producer credits to his name, including several prestigious, internationally recognized films and series. These include Thirteen Lives, Ron Howard’s acclaimed survival film about the heroic Thai cave rescue; the BAFTA-nominated BBC/Netflix series The Serpent; and the award-winning psychological drama Tár, starring Cate Blanchett.

From 2021 to 2024, Chris and Living Films produced the first season of Alien Earth for FX Network/ Disney. It was the first time that a major Hollywood sci-fi series shot entirely in Thailand and the production team built 82 sets over 13 sound stages across Bangkok.

Most recently, Chris went from shooting xenomorphs to sharks, as he produced another creature-feature: a “shark in a cave” movie called “The Devil’s Mouth” for Lionsgate and Amazon. The film is currently in post and will be released next year.
