Profile
Dandee
Vocalist
Dandee is hip-hop to the core. A true titan of Thai hip-hop, Dandee’s star was world-destined from the very beginning.
Growing up in Germany in the ‘90s, the son of a German mother and Thai father, Dandee absorbed the revelations of hip-hop’s golden age through the lens of his bi-racial, multicultural upbringing and outlook. As he grew older, he realised that hip-hop’s various streams of influence – visual aesthetics, b-boy culture, and its richly layered musical world – resonated powerfully with his lived experience.
Around him, he saw the gospel of hip-hop at work, and after receiving its wisdom from kings of the movement like Wu-Tang Clan and Outkast, he rose to the mic himself and trained in one of the most potent hip-hop arts: MCing.
Since then, Dandee has emerged as one of the pillars of Thai hip-hop, with an international impetus. His flair as a rapper, producer, and A&R places him in an elite league within hip-hop’s arena. He has transformed hip-hop’s street wisdom into a globally resonant philosophy that has taken him to all corners of the planet, where he flies the flags of hip-hop and Thailand with pride and gusto.
As one of the founding members of the legendary Bangkok Invaders, he has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the industry, performing both party-rocking club sets and large-scale festival and concert performances.
Nas, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Quavo, Nav, Offset, DJ Premier, Sean Kingston, Memphis Bleek, and Flo Rida are just some of the hip-hop luminaries he has shared bills with.
