Profile

Donna Robinson
Medconsult
CEO

Donna Robinson arrived in Thailand in February 1990, she had no idea what it would be like to work for a Thai NGO called ASIN in Talingchan. With the support of Dr. Jumroon Mikanorn, she successfully adapted. In 1994, she worked at UNICEF but missed being a hands-on doctor, so she pursued and obtained her medical license in 1998. After serving as Regional Medical Director for Kimberly Clark, Donna opened MedConsult in January 2003, despite having no prior business experience.

Since 2003, Donna has provided medical services to Bangkok. In 2022, she expanded MedConsult Clinic from fewer than 10 staff to 100, welcoming over 100,000 patients that year. As the Owner, CEO, and a practicing doctor, she spearheaded this transformation.

Donna is transparent about MedConsult’s growth, especially after Covid, with revenue tripling since pre-Covid levels. The clinic thrived through innovations such as switching to a locally developed electronic medical record system and implementing a new financial system, helping to improve transparency and operations.

MedConsult sees clients from across the region, and with Bangkok’s fast pace, Donna prioritizes efficiency, allowing walk-in patients to be seen anytime. Managing over 200 inquiries a day, the clinic benefits from an optimized website and Google Maps.

Donna learns daily from patient stories, staff, and vendors, while constantly adapting to the rapidly changing market. She also remains committed to the community, with initiatives such as participating in Paper Ranger and providing internships for students from institutions like Bangkok Patana School and the University of Glasgow.
