Erik Van den Brande has a rich professional career that showcases his expertise in various domains. After graduating in Agriculture, with specializations in intensive livestock farming, and specialized in Sturgeon farming, he began as a sales representative for fish feeds at Joosen-Luyckx Aqua Bio, covering a range of fish species across several countries. He later took on the role of Commercial Director at Joosen-Luyckx, overseeing sales teams and feed development for various livestock. Erik’s career also includes sales and development work for a sister company, Belki, focusing on broiler contracts.
In 1999, Erik played a pivotal role in developing a sturgeon hatchery and breeding program in Turnhout, Belgium. He was also one of the pioneers in the Caviar project at Joosen-Luyckx Aqua Bio from 2000 to 2003. Erik’s career then took him to INVE, MBF, where he served as General Manager Europe for the Aquapet division, later renamed Ocean Nutrition Europe. During his time at INVE, Erik contributed to the development of ornamental fish food and dry feeds.
Erik’s expertise spans general management, international sales of aquaculture and ornamental fish feeds, fish feed production and landscaping/pond-gardening. His career exemplifies a dedication to innovation and excellence in the aquatics and aquaculture industry.
In 2009, Erik orchestrated the Management Buy Out of Ocean Nutrition Europe and Ocean Nutrition Asia, assuming the role of Managing Director. He then set up and developed Marine Nutrition in Bangkok, Thailand, focusing on packaging and Asia-Pacific sales. Erik oversaw the construction of an Artemia processing unit in 2013 and a fish feed factory in 2015 at Marine Nutrition, Thailand.
