A Brit by birth, Gary spent his early years on the beaches of Cornwall, before moving to Hampshire. Discovering a sight impediment, a change in career direction was needed. Gary, entered the world of Hospitality. This opened a world of travel and people experiences; his first stop was Davos in Switzerland before returning to the UK to gain valuable experiences in many fine food establishments.Gary in 1980 headed to New Zealand with his Kiwi wife and 2 children and quickly discovered the challenges ahead in a newly developing country. Basic would best describe NZ at that time! He quickly established himself in the Hospitality Industry and was highly thought of in the Food and Beverage sector, as an operator and industry Trainer.

Being part of the first 5 personnel engaged by the first 5 Star Hotel in New Zealand the Sheraton Auckland, went on to open The Union Fish Company and was Senior Tutor in Hospitality at what is now AUT. Auckland Gary worked extensively in the Pacific Islands, Hawaii and Australia as well as NZ, often as a trouble shooter.

Gary moved out of the hands-on hospitality frontline and took a roll as he refers to ‘A TEASPOON SALESMAN” with Southern Hospitality a commercial hospitality supply company. SH also focused on design, build and refurbishment of establishments and Gary took on a new level within the industry. In 2017 Gary left NZ to oversee a 2-year JV in Thailand between Southern and Home Pottery.

When Covid struck Gary had plenty of time on his hands to re- evaluate his next moves. It was at this time he met with his new partners and Easson Energy was born. Easson Energy Is a Green Tech Energy company, giving businesses the visibility of their energy usage and then layering on energy savings solutions and monitoring.

Gary is well known in the Networking circles within Bangkok ESB and Hua Hin and is always helping to connect new people to establish connections.
