Hugh is the CEO of Proquanet, a startup he founded this January, and the budding author of “Hell in Paradise” soon to be published globally by Olympia Publishers in the UK.

Hugh emigrated with his family from his native Antwerp, to Bangkok, in 1987, and has spent nearly 4 decades in the land of smiles.

From June 2004 until last December, he was the Managing Director at Swarovski Gemstones Thailand, one of the Swarovski Group’s manufacturing centers. While there, he was instrumental in implementing employee empowerment, which eventually delivered measurable contributions to the business’s bottom line.

Since January this year, he has become more active in the Bangkok networking scene, giving a few keynote speeches on the topic of Employee Empowerment at Proseed Asia and Inspire Bangkok, while doing some consulting jobs within the manufacturing industry as well.

He is currently working on his second book, titled “Remember that time…in Bangkok”.
