Profile
Jade Thavisri
Varis / Zeedox
Bass / Synthesizer
Jade Thavisri is a Bangkok-based bassist best known as the former bassist of the indie band YEW.
Since his departure, he has continued working as a support and session musician, performing with artists such as Varis and Zeedox.
Known for his unmistakable attack and expressive playing, Jade approaches the bass as more than a supporting instrument. His basslines not only serve the foundation of the song where it matters most, but also carry a voice of their own—inviting listeners to acknowledge their presence rather than remain confined to the background.
Whether reinforcing or responding to the main message, his playing brings an added layer of narrative and emotional depth to the music.
In addition to electric bass, Jade’s background in jazz has led him to also play double bass, while expanding his practice into sound design and film scoring, applying the same sensitivity and intention that define his instrumental voice.
His musical approach is shaped by a wide range of influences, from alternative and experimental music to jazz and cinematic sound.
