Les spent 20 years as a writer, director, commercial still photographer, actor, UPM, and/or producer in Hollywood, spanning several genres including, features, reality, sitcoms, episodic, game shows and variety. While in LA, Les spent two terms as Chairman of the American Association of Producers, and one term as Vice President–Motion Pictures of the Producers Guild of America, where he continues as an Honorary Board Member, and is active in several committees, including the International Committee, which he helped to create.

He left LA to pursue an academic career, teaching at film schools and universities in the US, and also becoming the Academic Department Chair for two departments at the Art Institute of Colorado. He has taught film at various universities in Asia, including Mahidol and Srinakharinwirot, and has an ongoing workshop in Thailand.

Les moved to Asia in 2003 as Vice President-Production with Sony Entertainment Television-India. He later moved to Singapore as a Consultant with Sony at AXN, to oversee production on the first season of The Amazing Race-Asia. He produced a feature film in The Philippines after Sony, and then moved to Thailand. He started Greenlight Films in 2007. Greenlight Films is a bit unusual in that it works in many countries across Asia and the Pacific Rim, and does scripted and unscripted television, feature films, TV Commercials, and branded entertainment, along with developing slates of their own projects, including feature films, unscripted and scripted television.
