Luis Palomino Benítez
Filmaker and Photographer

Luis graduated with honors as a Director from Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica, México ‘s top international film school. His first short film “The Last Veil (2013)” was featured at the 53rd Critics Week at Cannes Film Festival. His first feature-length documentary “Mi Sangre Enarbolada” (2016) is an intimate portrait on his Mother’s passing. The film premiered at Guadalajara Film Festival.

His most recent film “In Plain View/ ไม่มีแสงแนวระนาบ” (2021) was shot in Bangkok Thailand and takes us into the heart of his friendship with a blind street musician. The film has been shown in more than 45 international film festivals, receiving nine awards for best film, including the prestigious “Iberoamerican Documentary Danzante Award” at the 50th Huesca International Film festival in Spain.

Luis is currently producing two feature length films: “The Infallible Remedy of Music” where he takes us into his friendship, the life, death and work of the legendary singer, Mexico City’s urban legend, Pablo López. And “Dyed Robes”: a coming of age, road movie of Pat and Arun, two Thai best friends who are grounded during summer break after being expelled from high school. They decide to escape their homes, pretending to be novice monks and living from charity.

Throughout this journey they will shape their true identities, transforming their values and beliefs. Focused on compassion and acceptance. Palomino aims to understand the human condition through the cinema and his lense.
