Nudchanad Wisawapati
Independent Artist
Nudchanad Wisawapati (b. 2002) is a Thai artist currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting at the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture, and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University.
Her practice explores the complexity of human behavior, relationships, and contemporary society through surrealistic narratives and symbolic imagery.
She works with oil on canvas, combining technical realism with imaginative distortion to construct dreamlike yet unsettling worlds. A central approach in her practice is artistic appropriation, borrowing and reinterpreting existing visual languages, cultural references, or iconic imagery.
Through character design, she reconstructs these borrowed elements into new visual identities, allowing familiar forms to carry new meanings.
Her characters often appear innocent, playful, or fantastical at first glance, yet subtly reveal tension, desire, irony, and social critique.
By reshaping appropriated imagery into layered visual metaphors, her work reflects on consumerism, emotional vulnerability, and the contradictions embedded in contemporary life.
Through this process, she invites viewers to reconsider what feels familiar and question the social structures that shape perception and behavior.
