Panu Aree began his film career in 1995 as a sound recordist, grounding himself in the technical craft of Thai cinema. His interest in storytelling soon led him to directing, where he created several thoughtful short films and documentaries. His co-directed works with critic-filmmaker Kong Rithdee earned wide international recognition, screening at major festivals including Yamagata, Busan, Vancouver, and others across the global documentary circuit.

Over nearly three decades, Panu has built a reputation for insightful, culturally rooted narratives and a deep understanding of both creative and production processes. His work reflects a commitment to exploring Thai society with clarity, empathy, and cinematic precision.

Today, Panu is an executive at M Studio, the leading film studio in Thailand. He oversees content strategy, development, and production, helping shape the company’s film slate and its growing international presence.
