Panya Zhu is a Thai-Chinese director and producer born in Bangkok, Thailand. He began making films at a young age and gained national recognition in 2016—while still in high school—with his short film White Paper, which received an Honorable Mention in the Thai Youth Film category and the White Pigeon Award at the Thai Short Film & Video Festival.

In 2020, his short film Fatherland received the runner-up prize in the Student Film Competition at the same festival. The film was later selected by the Move the Movies project and developed into part of the collaborative feature Voices of the New Gen (2022), which was screened in cinemas nationwide, nominated for the Best New Filmmaker Award at the Bangkok Critics Assembly Awards, and is currently available on Netflix.

Panya Zhu is the co-founder of INVAVE and continues to work as a director and producer across short films, music videos, and commercials. His work focuses on character-driven storytelling and contemporary narratives, while actively collaborating with emerging filmmakers to explore the voices and perspectives of a new generation.
