Patrick Basset has extensive experience in managing Hospitality Business units, covering Development, Operation, Human Resource, Marketing, and Distribution aspects of hotel Management and Franchise. He began his career with Starwood in the Middle East in F&B Management, then joined Accor in 1983, where he spent 38 years in various senior executive roles across the Middle-East, Africa, Europe, and Asia with AccorHotels. His positions included Executive General Manager for Thailand; Director of Operations – AccorHotels Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam; Chief Executive for Ibis Thailand; and Chief Executive of AccorHotels Greater China, South Korea, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.

Patrick was involved in several Worldwide committees for Accor in Marketing (Luxury brands), Diversity and Inclusion, and Sustainability policies, Risk Management, and managed key projects, including integration of new companies and brands. Upon retiring from Accor in 2021, he was involved in the development and supervision of schools in Singapore, Cambodia, and Vietnam. He played a key role in Accor’s growth in ASPAC, from 50 hotels in the early 1990s to over 1200 hotels and another 500 under development by 2021. Patrick Basset received the “Bernache d’Honneur” from Accor, the highest distinction awarded by the group, and is a Commercial Counselor for the French Ministry of Foreign Trade in Southeast Asia since 1988.
