Raf is a Malaysian who has been living in Thailand for 24 years, spending 19 years in the creative advertising industry. He moved to music 5 years ago as the Head of Domestic Marketing at Warner Music Thailand and has enjoyed working closely with more than 25 artists, building their brands and fans

He was also a member of the WAVS team, a community of now around 45 independent artists where the Warner team provided mentorship, facilities, and workshops.

Most recently, Rafiq has left Warner Music to focus on his independent artist career with another member of WAVS — Kmonvish Lawan. Together they are a duo called KmonRafiq, a duo band started by the collaboration of two indie artists, Kmonvish Lawan and Rafiq Ridzwan, tied together with their love of creativity and music.

Both of them love experimenting with sounds and how to apply sound design into different genres of music. KMONRAFIQ is a Pop, Electronic, Alternative Rock, and even Rap duo.

They use all kinds of sound and media to pass their message and mix between genres as they see fit to the message; this also reflects in their marketing campaign, art directions, and show visuals. Their upcoming album, “Book of Moderation,” is the evidence of how they use concept albums to tell the spiritual journey of an artist who wants to become successful by following a forbidden manuscript they found in their attic.
