Profile
Ruben Teshmar
Cinematographer/ Editor/ Filmmmaker
Ruben Teshmar has contributed to some of today’s most visually ambitious productions, including Dune: Part Two—as part of its Oscar-winning team—as well as John Wick: Chapter 4 and Netflix’s 1899.
Working on these large-scale worlds shaped his eye for atmosphere, authenticity, and storytelling grounded in emotion rather than perfection.
Guided by a clear principle, Ruben believes film should feel real. No matter the format—commercial, music video, or narrative film—he avoids the flat, hyper-polished look common in many productions.
Instead, he seeks an organic, human quality: light that behaves truthfully, moments that feel lived, and a perspective that places the audience behind the eyes of the characters.
His approach favors honesty over gloss, texture over artificial shine, and emotional presence over visual noise.
The result is imagery that breathes, connects, and lingers. Now beginning a new chapter in Bangkok, Ruben focuses on creating films and visual work that remain grounded and resonant.
His aim is simple: to craft images that don’t just impress, but genuinely move.
