Sand Suwanya
Between Moon and Sun
Natural Pigmentist / Experiential Artist

Sand grew up in a wooden house along the canal in Bang Khonthi, where water quietly shaped the rhythm of her childhood. It was there, surrounded by shifting reflections and storybook colors, that her love for art first began to bloom.

As a child, she remembers pouring synthetic paint into the canal an act that left her with a quiet sense of guilt. Years later, an unexpected allergy to those same paints became a turning point, gently guiding her back to nature’s own palette.

Today, Sand is a maker of natural pigments. She gathers humble materials from the earth soil, leaves, bark, and flowers and slowly transforms them into paint by hand.

Through her brand Between Moon and Sun, she creates watercolors, crayons, oils, and inks, continually exploring the subtle shifts, textures, and personalities of natural color.

Painting with pigments she makes herself, Sand trusts the materials and allows her hands to respond intuitively. Within this process, she discovers a quiet, grounded beauty one that flows, like the canal of her childhood, between memory and making.
