Stephane Amiel
Les Femmes s'en Mêlent
Founder

Stéphane Amiel is the creator and organiser of Les Femmes s’en Mêlent, a festival promoting the role of women in contemporary music, which was launched in Paris in 1997.

The festival has always been committed for a greater representation and visibility of women artists in the music scene. Long before discussions on gender parity, LFSM was a response to the underrepresentation of women in most festivals. It has become an essential event in Europe and a reference both for its influence in the music sphere and for its work towards equality.
More than 500 artists have perfomed all over the years.

He also managed the Imperial booking agency from 2004 to 20214, working with artists such as Nouvelle Vague, Christine and The Queens, Metric, Fujiya & Miyagi, CSS, Austra, Hushpuppies…

He is currently working for the association Les Femmes s’en Mêlent, preparing the 25th anniversary of the festival in November 2024 in Paris and all around France (More than 25 cities involved).

For this 25th anniversary, we want to continue to celebrate this creation by offering alternative programming, supporting artists in their career development through concerts throughout France and internationally, and promoting gender equality in contemporary music through our Les Femmes S’engagent programme of workshops, conferences, meetings, screenings and debates.
