Executive Advisor to the CEO

Tom is originally from Belgium, where he was born and grew up. His law and international history & relations studies (in 4 languages) took him to the universities of Namur and Leuven in Belgium, but also to Berlin, Germany and London, UK. Tom started his legal career in Brussels at law firm Linklaters before moving inhouse to the European HQ of Huntsman Corporation in 2005. Besides Brussels, he also worked in London, Mumbai and Singapore, before moving to Bangkok in 2009 when he was hired as the first and sole lawyer for Agoda.

Agoda is a leading provider of online travel services, and is part of the NASDAQ listed company Booking Holdings, Inc. (BKNG). Tom built up the legal department from scratch, to the current team of about 60 highly motivated professionals from diverse backgrounds, and based in different cities worldwide. Tom was also overseeing the HR function for the first few years at the company before becoming full-time General Counsel. Since January 2024, he has taken on the new role of Executive Advisor to the CEO, primarily advising on projects.

Tom is also Director at the Belgian-Luxembourg/Thai Chamber of Commerce (Beluthai) since 2021 and has been active as a promotor of Belgium in Thailand from well before that.

In his free time, Tom likes to enjoy the good things in life especially fine wine and food. Tom has three children aged 6, 12 and 14.
