Wannaphob Yeeaumat
Just1light
Independent Director / DOP
Wannaphob “Wan” Yeeumat is an independent filmmaker based in Bangkok whose work blends visual storytelling, emotional truth, and a strong focus on the power of cinematic language without relying solely on dialogue. His films explore themes of memory, regret, healing, and the emotional narratives that exist beneath the surface of everyday life. He is interested in how light, color, and visual symbolism can open space for audiences to reflect on themselves rather than being told what to think.
Wan also directed the mini-series “The Hater” on YouTube.
In 2025, Wan earned the winning award at Inspiring Asia in Singapore for a film addressing mental health challenges among young people. During his university years, he actively participated in film contests, receiving multiple mid-level awards that contributed to his growth both technically and conceptually as a director and cinematographer.
He is currently developing new projects for film festivals and industry pitching programs while also operating a small-scale equipment rental studio called “only1light.” The initiative was born from his belief that the film industry needs more accessible spaces where emerging filmmakers can learn, experiment, and thrive.
Wan continues to expand his practice as both a director and cinematographer, driven by the hope that his work can serve as a mirror, allowing viewers to pause, look inward, and rediscover their own questions.
